Commissionaires Cuts Ribbon on New Building and Offers New Services

State-of-the-art digital fingerprinting and new pardons service now available

December 16, 2008, London ON - Commissionaires Great Lakes opened its newly renovated building today in London with the help of Mayor DeCicco-Best and local MP’s. The new London office of Commissionaires will offer a full range of security-related services including digital fingerprinting for travel, employment and immigration applications and pardons processing for selected offences.

“After our long renovation, we’re thrilled to be operating out of our new building bringing us into the heart of East London and even closer to our customers,” commented Mark Van Den Bossche, Director of Operations for Commissionaires Great Lakes, Western Region.

Commissionaires Great Lakes bought the building at 1730 Dundas Street in London in October 2007. The building had not been occupied for two years and required significant renovations. Design and planning were undertaken in the spring of 2008 with construction commencing in June. The renovations were finished in November. The first floor houses Commissionaires’ Fingerprinting and ID services, Operations and Human Resources. The second floor will be home to Commissionaires’ Training Academy where commissionaires will be trained and new commercial training programs will also be delivered.

In addition to security solutions, security consulting, enforcement services, training, and Commissionaires’ leading edge Fingerprinting and Identification Services, a new Pardons service will also be offered. Canadians with minor criminal offences in their past may be eligible for pardons granted by the National Parole Board. Using digital fingerprinting as part of the process allows Commissionaires to secure pardons much faster than had previously been possible.

“Our Commissionaires in London and in broader Southwestern Ontario have always played an important role in the community and in the life of our organization, so it’s wonderful to be here to celebrate the opening of this newly renovated building and the expanded services available,” concluded Jim Watts, President and CEO, Commissionaires Great Lakes.
