Commissionaires offers a security training course for security employment.

Commissionaires Great Lakes provides extensive entry-level and on-site training as well as opportunities for additional training in support of career advancement.

Our basic training exceeds the industry standard. Candidates joining Commissionaires Great Lakes receive our Commissionaires Security Guard Course (CSGC) training which is based on the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) standards for security guards. Our training meets provincial standards under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA), as well as other legislation pertaining to health and safety and first aid.

To meet our clients' needs, and in keeping with our commitment to our ISO standards, Commissionaires Great Lakes ensures that proper on-site training is conducted. We work closely with our clients to develop job requirements and detailed and accurate post orders. Once we identify the job criteria, the site supervisor trains commissionaires to meet these specific needs.

Supervisor Training

Due to our large decentralized organization, on-site personnel are empowered to meet specific client needs. Our on-site supervisors receive an intensive 10 day specialty training program which exceeds the Canadian General Standards Board Specifications (CAN/CGSB – 133.2.92) for uniformed security supervisors. In addition, several refresher seminars for supervisors are held throughout the year.
